Practice
Intellident Systems, Inc.
Intellident is a University of Miami spinout that builds AI software for dental practices. I founded it in 2025 after a decade of research on why health information technology succeeds or fails in clinical settings, and the university holds an equity stake through its technology licensing program.
Our first products take on the work that keeps dentists and their staff away from patients: clinical documentation, patient communication, and insurance paperwork. Our ambient documentation tool listens to a visit and drafts the clinical note, using a dental-specific vocabulary and a rules layer that checks the note against the chart before anything is saved. Patient messaging and insurance workflows are built on the same platform.
Intellident is AI-native in the plain sense: we designed it around language models from the first line of code rather than adding a chatbot to existing practice management software. Our design decisions come out of published research on provider incentives and health data sharing, and we develop our products with input from university clinicians before they reach private practices.

Working with me
- What I do
- Advise on health data strategy: interoperability and health information exchange, privacy and HIPAA compliance, the design and evaluation of AI tools in clinical and administrative settings, and the regulatory landscape around them. Expert analysis and testimony on health IT policy. Evaluation studies: I design the study, run the analysis, and write it up so it stands up to scrutiny.
- Who I have worked with
- Health information exchanges in New York, Connecticut and Abu Dhabi; Surescripts; health IT and population health startups; a public affairs firm advising on AI legislation. The list is above.
- How it usually starts
- An email to niamyaraghi@miami.edu with a paragraph on the problem and the timeline. I reply with whether it is something I can help with and, if so, a short call to scope it. Engagements run from a one-off review to a retained advisory role; university rules on outside activity apply, and I say so up front if a request conflicts with them.
